“I am Ellie Tabako, a Park Ranger at Cross Lake Recreation Area. After spending most of my life in Becker, Minnesota, I went to college at St Cloud State University to pursue my passion of the natural world and received a degree in biology and ecology. Immediately after college I moved to Oregon, got a job in Parks and Recreation, and spent all my free time taking day trips to the coast and hiking the various volcanoes and mountains with my favorite four-legged adventure partner, Roman. I eventually landed back in Brainerd, found a Park Ranger job with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and have been here for just over 3 years!”
